Florida State football: Vegas showing Wake Forest no respect in early line

The Seminoles are favored by more than three touchdowns.

Florida State is fresh off a win over Miami. And while everyone is focused on that, it is worth a peek at the next opponent, Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons come in at 5-1, with a strong defense and an improved offense.

Yet, the Vegas line for the game opened at 25 points. It has since been bet down to 22.5, but clearly the books are showing little regard for the Demon Deacons. While this is a letdown spot off such an emotional win, it is not a sandwich spot as Florida State has a bye next week.

It’s worth noting that the bet sizes are limited on early wagers, as lines are volatile. An over/under is not yet available.

Elsewhere, Ole Miss is a favorite of a touchdown at Arkansas.

Louisville is favored by 33 over Duke.

USF is favored by 20 over UConn.

Miami opened as a favorite of a touchdown hosting North Carolina, but with rumors of a shoulder injury to Brad Kaaya, the line is unavailable now at many books.

Clemson is favored by 17 over N.C. State.

Syracuse is an underdog of 19 at home hosting Virginia Tech.

Florida is favored by 14 hosting Missouri.

If Vegas is right, Syracuse will be the only team on FSU’s schedule to lose to a team not on its schedule this week. This is truly a really good schedule.
