After three incredible seasons, including 4,464 rushing yards on 6.49 yards per carry, 935 yards receiving, & 48 total touchdowns (46 rushing, 2 receiving), Dalvin Cook, the best running back in Florida State (maybe ACC) history is headed to the NFL.
Replacing the all-time great Seminole will be a tall order for Florida State, but luckily FSU will have plenty of talented options anxious for the opportunity. Here are your leading candidates:
Jacques Patrick: the former high 4-star recruit has 664 yards and 9 TDs at 5.35 yards per carry in his young career. The 6’2 235 rising junior is a power runner that has worked really hard on getting his pad level down and finishing runs w/ authority.
Amir Rasul: the talented former 4-star out of Miami had 46 yards on 6 attempts during his freshman year. The 5’10 200 lb rising sophomore is a speed demon boasting sub 10.5 100m speed, and he’s a threat to take it the distance any time he touches the ball.
Ryan Green: another former high 4-star recruit; the redshirt senior has spent time at running back and defensive back, before switching back to running back again prior to the 2016 season. The 5’10 190 lb all-purpose back has 269 yards and a TD on 50 carries in his career.
Cam Akers: Early Enrollee 5-star recruit; Cam Akers is the highest rated offensive recruit of the Jimbo Fisher era. Akers led Clinton High School to a state championship while throwing for 3128 yards, rushing for 2105 yards, and having 65 total touchdowns.
Khalan Laborn: High 4-star recruit; the Under Armour All-American out of Virginia Beach is Chris Thompson-like in his ability to cut & stop on a dime. Many remember his famous commitment but the high 4-star recruit has serious skills running the ball.
Zaquandre White: Kind of the forgotten man among the various social media sites of #Tribe17; At 6’0 210 lbs running a 4.5; the high 4-star recruit is a college ready running back with tremendous receiving skills out of the backfield.
