Florida State's ranking in the college football polls: AP, USA Today Coaches

Will FSU’s first win of the year put them back into the top 25 of the AP Poll?

Update: FSU remains unranked in each poll, coming in 27th in AP voting and 26th in the Coaches Poll.

There was a major change in last week’s AP Poll as, for the first time since 2011, Florida State was not listed among the top 25 teams after beginning its season 0-2.

After finally earning their first victory of the year, a underwhelming 26-19 win at Wake Forest on Saturday, will FSU’s absence from the AP Poll be a brief one or will the Seminoles be on the outside looking in for the second straight week?

In the other major poll, the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Seminoles clinged onto the No. 25 spot a week ago despite being winless. How many spots, if any, does the win over the Demon Deacons move the Seminoles up?

FSU may have caught a few breaks from SEC teams as two separate fringe top 25 teams, No. 24 Mississippi State and No. 25 LSU both suffered embarrassing losses. The Bulldogs were crushed 49-10 at Auburn and the Tigers were knocked off at home by Troy, 24-14. It’s likely FSU could jump above both of these teams which also have two losses after this week.

The Coaches Poll is expected to be released Sunday around 10 a.m. while the AP Poll drops at 11 a.m.
