NCAA Football: Chick-fil-A Kickoff-Alabama vs Florida State Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

There’s no doubt that Louisville’s Lamar Jackson is the Cardinals biggest threat to Florida State this weekend. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner torched FSU for five total touchdowns, four on the ground, and 362 all purpose yards.

Despite those eye-popping stats, Florida State senior linebacker Matthew Thomas has confidence that the Seminoles’ defenders will be able to tackle Jackson in open space.

“I feel like any of our players can tackle him in space. It’s just a fact of containing him and don’t let him use his speed to beat us. We just gotta do that.”

When asked if he was taking this year’s rematch personal after the 63-20 loss to UL on the road last season, Thomas was quick to respond.

“Not personal at all. Last year is just last year. We’re just focused on this year.”
