Update 10/27:17 5:10 ET — The line has shot back up to Florida State by 6.5, with an over/under of 47.5.
Update 10/21/17 10 PM ET: The line has now dropped to three.
The Florida State Seminoles travel to face the Boston College Eagles this Friday. FSU is coming off a 31-28 loss to the Louisville Cardinals. Meanwhile, BC is coming off road wins at Louisville and Virginia. The early betting line is Florida State favored by four.
This line actually implies the Seminoles are six points better on a neutral site, but the game is being played in Boston on short rest, which is worth roughly three points on the Vegas line’s power rankings.
Florida State’s offense has scored just 11 touchdowns in six games, by far the worst of any Power 5 school. This is partially because of injuries on offense, partially because of mismanagement of superior talent by Jimbo Fisher, partially because of a cancelled game, and partially because of the outrageously tough slate of defenses FSU has faced.
Early lines are inherently dynamic, tending to move with much lower wager sizes than those late in the week, because the Casino is still trying to build its hold, so swings are very possible.
The total (over/under) is not available until later in the week. This post will be updated.
