The SEC East was the worst division across the power-five conferences last season, and, apparently, Las Vegas bookmakers don’t think much of it this year either. Or maybe they’ve watched the incredible good fortune that has helped the Florida Gators climb atop that division— after all, if anyone knows that luck runs out, it’s Vegas oddsmakers.
And so, for the second straight week, those at the sports book Bovada have No. 21 and 3-1 UF at 200/1 odds to win the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, the unranked Florida State Seminoles, who have just a 1-2 record and are tied for third in the ACC Atlantic, saw their odds slide from a week ago. They’re down from 66/1 to 100/1, sure, but that’s still way better than the Gators’ chances.
The state’s best odds belong to the Seminoles’ next opponent, the Miami Hurricanes, who currently sit at 40/1 odds, down from 30/1 a week ago.
