Florida State vs. Clemson won’t have quite the same luster it has in years past, but make no mistake about it: both teams still very much want to win this game, the game that has decided the ACC for as long as any player on either side has been a collegiate athlete.
And one of those athletes previousy thought lost for the season could have a chance to affect the outcome of this matchup between traditional ACC powers— actually, according to FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher, a good chance. Junior running back Jacques Patrick, previously the starter in front of five-star recruit Cam Akers, led Florida State RBs with 5.69 YPC prior to injuring his knee against Louisville. A rare bright spot for the ’Noles this year, Patrick was having an impressive 2017 campaign before requiring surgery the other week. But he was on his feet the day after, and now could be on the field as soon as next weekend, per a remark from Fisher at his weekly call-in show.
