In perhaps the least shocking news from a rather surprisingly disappointing campaign for both programs, the kickoff time for the annual grudge match between Florida State and Florida has been announced, and once again, I’ll be setting an alarm. The Seminoles and Gators will get it on at noon, in Gainesville, on ESPN.
This game, which has went the way of the ’Noles the last four seasons, always means bragging rights for the year to come, but this year it means even more. Both squads are currently 3-6, and need to finish the season perfectly in order to get a chance at a bowl game.
To that end, FSU rescheduled Louisiana-Monroe, and while UF has not rescheduled Northern Colorado, it could still get a waiver if it finishes at 5-6. The Seminoles will play Delaware State this weekend as a tune-up, while Florida will host UAB in a game that it could legitimately lose.
