Florida State is still looking for that elusive victory at Doak Campbell Stadium when it plays host to Syracuse on Saturday. The Seminoles, 2-5 on the season, have yet to win at home despite three chances.
Syracuse’s 4-4 record should not be taken lightly. Yes, the Orange lost to Middle Tennessee St. at home earlier this season, but arguable had the third best win in school history, behind its 1959 national championship and its 1984 win over No. 1 Nebraska, when it defeated then No. 2 Clemson at home.

At quarterback for Syracuse is Eric Dungey. The junior did not play against FSU last season due to an injury. So far in 2017, Dungey has thrown for 2,217 yards with 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions to accompany his 60.2% completion percentage. The 6’4 222 lb. Oregon native is a threat outside of the pocket, scoring eight touchdowns on the ground with 486 rushing yards on 121 attempts (96 if you remove sacks). He’s coming off his second 100+ yard performance of the season last week at Miami.
For Florida State, James Blackman has thrown seven touchdowns and interceptions through six games. He has yet to eclipse his mark of 278 passing yards achieved in his collegiate debut. The true freshman has thrown all seven of those interceptions in the past four games and failed to reach the end zone for the first time vs. Boston College last week.
