For the last six years, the winner of the Florida State-Clemson game has gone on to capture the Atlantic Coast Conference title. That could still be the case in 2017— but only for the Tigers, who will host the Seminoles on Saturday, November 11, in Clemson, South Carolina at 3:30 PM ET. That’s not a great time for FSU; for the ’Noles to make the ACC title game, the Clemson contest would have to be scheduled either earlier (like in the past) or later (as in, a future year), as Florida State has already been eliminated from any chance of winning the ACC Atlantic in 2017.

The ’Noles have emerged victorious from Death Valley just once in their last seven trips, the 51-14 mauling of CU in FSU’s national title season of 2013, a game that seems particularly distant given the adversity of the present Seminole campaign, which, while taking forever to get going, now seems entirely endless.
