The silver lining about a fallout as public as Jimbo Fisher and Florida State’s was this week is that it gives the university time to prepare.
We’ve reported already the jump start FSU has gotten on the replacement side, but it turns out the administration has also taken advantage of the advance notice as well.
News broke Friday at 1:20 p.m. that Fisher would be leaving FSU for Texas A&M. WIthin hours, FSU was advertising its new interim coach, defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins for Saturday’s regular season finale against Louisiana-Monroe.

The digital billboard, if you are in town and want to see it, is right next to WCTV near the intersection of Capital Circle and I-10.
Haggins’ head coaching debut is set for 12 p.m. Saturday with huge stakes on the line. The Seminoles need a win to keep the nation’s longest postseason streak alive. A win would make it 36 straight years in a bowl.
