New, 75 comments

The Florida State AD talks publicly for the first time.

For the first time since the departure of Florida State football head coach, Athletics Director Stan Wilcox spoke publicly on the matter.

The AD said he hopes a search will be completed “very, very quickly,” and that the school has not decided on a specific top target. Instead, there are popular names among the selection committee.

He was also asked specifically about Oregon head coach Willie Taggart and if the school has been in contact with him. Wilcox declined to answer the question saying, “I can't talk about that right now.”

When talking about the search criteria and what the school is looking for in the next FSU head coach, Wilcox listed numerous things, however emphasized the new coach’s ability to recruit, specifically in Florida.

We released a list of names Florida State may be interested in.

You can follow along to the search with live updates here.
