Freshman FSU running back Khalan Laborn is not with the team prior to Florida State’s first-ever appearance in the Independence Bowl tomorrow, as first reported by the Tallahassee Democrat.
Laborn initially traveled with the team to Shreveport, but left for unspecified reasons. His social media feed shows that Laborn was with the team during Christmas.
Merry Christmas to my Family and Friends back home and to the ones who don't get to have a Christmas...God Bless you all

A former five-star recruit from the 2017 recruiting class., Laborn has not played in a game this season and seems to be on track to redshirt. He was a part of a stellar running back class that included five-star phenom Cam Akers and four-star RB Zaquandre White. But with the depth chart loaded with not just Akers but also junior Jacques Patrick and sophomore Amir Rasul, playing time has been nonexistent for Laborn, even on special teams.
Players who are redshirting have the option to travel to the bowl game or not during the holiday season. Excluding fullbacks, Florida State will have six running backs on scholarship next season.
