In the immortal words of Chevy Chase, “this is crazy, this is crazy, this is crazy.” It seems like just yesterday that I was in Atlanta to cover the No. 3 Seminoles’ opener against Alabama. 2017 was a season that began with abounding promise for the ’Noles, but things don’t always work out as you’d hoped, a point to which Christie Brinkley can surely attest. As it turns out, sandwich dancing goes only so far. So what the hell have I been doing every Wednesday night from 7-9 pm? Seems like a waste.
Which brings us to Shreveport, the home of the Independence Bowl, in which Florida State will play for the first time ever, against the Southern Mississippi Gold Eagles. Yeah. That’s a thing.
And hey, it is your last glimpse of Seminole football this year, so regardless of how you feel about the significance of this contest, you should probably watch, too.
To do so, just tune in to ESPN at 1:30 pm today. Good talk, Russ.
