Independence Bowl prep begins.

NCAA Football: UL Monroe at Florida State Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday at 1 PM, Florida State interim head coach Odell Haggins will hold a press conference to talk about the team’s bowl game. FSU is headed to the Independence Bowl on December 27th to take on Southern Miss. The team’s bowl preparations begin today.

When the ’Noles take the field in Shreveport, they will be without star defensive back Derwin James who has declared for the NFL Draft and elected to not play in the bowl game. There are still many players who may follow suit and not participate in the final game.

With Haggins speaking at today’s press conference, it more than likely means that he will remain interim head coach and assume that role for the bowl game. The Seminoles hired head coach Willie Taggart who will continue to evaluate the coaching staff through bowl preparations and the game itself.

Andrew Miller from Tomahawk Nation will be in attendance providing live updates in the comments section below.

There will be a live video feed below once available.
