Florida State offensive lineman Kareem Are went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, however his NFL career is still getting started. According to Noles247, Are has tryouts scheduled with the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans in the upcoming weeks.

Are has been at Florida State for three years after transferring from JUCO after redshirting his first year in Tallahassee. In his first year playing for the ‘Noles in 2015, he was named to the All-ACC Third Team by the media and and was an All-ACC Honorable Mention by the coaches. In 2016, he was on the All-ACC Second Team as voted on by both media and coaches.

The 6’6 325 lb. lineman from Elmont, New York was ranked the No. 1 JUCO offensive guard after his two year stint at Fort Scott community college in Kansas and was a three-star prospect out of high school.

Are played in 22 games while starting 17 of those games. The left guard was also named most improved offensive player following the 2016 Florida State spring practice session and was recognized at the end of the year banquet as one of FSU’s top newcomers.
