It should come as no surprise, but Florida State’s high-profile season opener against Alabama in Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be College GameDay’s site for the first week of the 2017 season, first shared by Lee Corso in a radio interview months ago before it was confirmed on Twitter Wednesday.
It’s official!

The game, which could be the most highly-touted season opener in the history of college football, will be FSU’s second College GameDay game in as many years after the show broadcast live from Louisville ahead of UL’s 63-20 win over the Seminoles. If both teams rank in the top three of the preseason polls, it will go down as the biggest Week One game since the introduction of preseason polls.
The game, slated for an 8 PM kick, will surely draw the Chris Fowler/Kirk Herbstreit broadcasting duo and should be the main event of a fantastic week one slate of college football games.
