Football:
- Despite all the rumblings, FSU AD Stan Wilcox said that the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be ready on time for Florida State vs. Alabama’s game on September 2nd.
- About a year ago, A few of the head writers over at SB Nation’s college football HQ compiled a list of each Power 5 conference if it only had one division. Do you like the new “proposed” slate for the ACC?
- In case you missed it, the preseason Lott trophy watch list was released, with the nation’s top defensive player. Absent from the 42-player list were FSU’s DB Derwin James and Tarvarus McFadden. Ricobert further delves into the mystery of the pair’s snub.
- FSU DB Trey Marshall will indeed be suspended in what may be college football’s dumbest rule circumstance. Because Marshall got a targeting penalty in the final half against Michigan, the suspension DOES cary over through the offseason, and Marshall WILL be suspended for the first half against Alabama. Pure nonesense. (For the record, I agree with the punishment, I don’t agree that it should carry over into different seasons)
Recruiting:
- Every SEC school, and Florida State, are trying to pry five-star QB Emory Jones away from Ohio State. Here’s what makes him such a sought after prospect.
- Tim Brewster seems to be heading to Mississippi for some recruiting activities.
