Football season may be nearly 100 days away, but Andrea Adelson of ESPN writes that FSU has already gone full force into its preparations for the season-opening game against Alabama.
Fox Sports’ Stewart Mandel included FSU in his list of the 13 top-tier college football programs. Judging from the list, who else could be on the list? Who doesn’t belong?

Recruiting
Josh Newberg of Noles247 released his list of FSU’s top ten most wanted 2018 recruits.
1. 4-Star LB Teradja Mitchell
This one is down to Ohio State or Florida State. Mitchell will announce his decision this coming Friday at his high school. FSU is heavily favored on the Crystal Ball with 79% of the predictions. Mitchell is one of the top overall targets on Florida State’s board. Mitchell is the 2nd ranked inside linebacker in the country and the 37th best player overall.
Alumni
NFL.com broke down their list of the six best NFL draft picks from Florida State since 2000.
1. Antonio Cromartie, cornerback
Points: 12.1
Drafted by: Chargers, No. 19 overall pick (Round 1), 2006
Skinny: Cromartie parlayed excellent size for a cornerback (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) and tremendous athleticism into four Pro Bowls in 11 seasons. He led the NFL in interceptions in his second NFL season (2007) with 10. He was also durable: from 2008 to 2015, an eight-year stretch in which he played for four NFL clubs, Cromartie missed only three regular-season starts. He was released by the Colts in October of last year and remains unsigned.
2. Anquan Boldin, wide receiver
Points: 10.8
Drafted by: Cardinals, No. 54 overall pick (Round 2), 2003
Skinny: This second-round pick was playing like a first-rounder from his first year as a pro. Boldin took Offensive Rookie of the Year honors with 1,377 receiving yards, his first of seven 1,000-yard campaigns. NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner believes Boldin is deserving of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's currently a free agent, and needs just 221 more yards to become the 13th player to reach 14,000 in his career.
Devonta Freeman entered the realm of the top 50 in this year's edition of the NFL Top 100.

We learned Sunday that FSU would be hosting a baseball regional for the seventh straight season. On Monday, the teams that would be coming to the Tallahassee Regional, along with FSU’s potential super regional matchup, were announced.
While the Seminoles made the tournament, Miami was left out for the first time in 45 years, giving FSU a new claim in the college baseball record books.
The FSU baseball team may have kept its postseason streak alive and need just one more win to reach 40 for the 40th straight year, but one ridiculous streak came to an end with the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field on Monday.
