Florida State football, recruiting news: A look at FSU in a College Football relegation system

Your daily dose of Florida State football, recruiting and other sports news.

Football:

  • Bill Connelly of SB Nation set up a 15 year simulation in which College Football teams were delegated and relegated, much like the European Soccer system. In his new eight team Tier I playoff, Florida State made the playoff in four simulations. Take a look at what teams would be relegated and delegated, as well as how the conferences would look after the 15-years.
  • In the latest Heisman Trophy odds, Derwin James remains the top defensive player at 60/1 odds. WR Nyqwan Murray also made the list, currently at 100/1 odds.
  • In a look at the closest FBS or FCS stadium to every county in Florida, there is one ACC team missing from the list.

Florida State was actually in danger of falling behind before Jimbo Fisher took over and made football king again in Tallahassee. When compared to the other schools of the ACC, there's really only one other school that comes close to everything Florida State has to offer, whether we're talking history, tradition, fan base or recruiting. FSU's well-positioned in it all.

Recruiting:

  • FSU did offer a scholarship to another QB, 2019 four-star Roschon Johnson who is ranked the No. 142 overall player in his class and No. 2 dual-threat QB.

Other Sports:

  • The dates and times for Florida State’s super regional this weekend vs. Sam Houston State have been announced.
