NCAA Football: Orange Bowl-Michigan vs Florida State Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

In the latest numbers released, FSU’s odds to reach the College Football Playoff are among the best in the nation.

On ESPN’s most recent list of the top 50 college football players entering the 2017 season, Florida State defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi got the countdown underway.

No. 50 Derrick Nnadi

Florida State

Senior | Defensive Tackle

Nnadi was a first-team All-ACC selection last year after notching 49 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks, but both he and his coaches believe he will be better this season because he is completely comfortable with his role in the defense. The 6-foot-1, 312-pound senior opted to return to school for that reason.

It was not breaking news as it had been previously reported, but former FSU tight end Jeremy Kerr took to Twitter to share a goodbye message ahead of fall camp getting underway on Tuesday.

Paul Finebaum may have surprised some (or could just be filling his role as the troll) when he shared his opinion on how Alabama should deal with Da’Shawn Hand’s DUI arrest.

Corey Clark, columnist for the Tallahassee Democrat, did well in telling the story of how Nick Saban gave Jimbo Fisher his first major coordinator position at LSU nearly two decades ago.

“I was actually the first guy he hired.”

Turns out, the Saban guy has a pretty decent eye for talent.

"Very knowledgeable, very direct," Fisher said of his first impression of Saban in the interview. "Knew what he wanted. You could tell he was an in-charge guy. A guy who knew what he wanted and how he wanted it. Was very set in his ways, as far as I know what I want, this is what I want, but communicated very well. Was very similar to what I grew up with, believe it or not.

"I felt very comfortable with him. All the time. Always did."

The two went on to win 48 games together over five years at LSU, including the 2003 national championship.

Tomahawk Nation’s ongoing series of previews of FSU’s 2017 opponents carried on Monday with a look at the Duke Blue Devils and what to expect in the first matchup between the teams in four years.

The stats have Ricky Aguayo on track to be among the best kickers in Florida State history. Is this actually the case? David Visser investigates.

Owen Pappoe, the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 6 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class, had some overwhelmingly positive words about FSU when asked by Noles247’s Josh Newberg. ($)

Former FSU wideout Bobo Wilson has been making an impact as an undrafted free agent at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason camp with plays like this one.

Just a day after former FSU defensive back Xavier Rhodes got PAID by the Minnesota Vikings, another former Seminole DB, Lamarcus Joyner said his current team, the Los Angeles Rams, is looking to lock him up for a long-term deal.
