Jimbo Fisher praises young Florida State quarterbacks, wide receivers

Jimbo Fisher is very pleased with the talent on Florida State.

After practice on Thursday, Jimbo had some great things to say about the young freshman quarterbacks.

In particular, he was very impressed by the play of James Blackman.

“Very impressed. Picking things up. Very knowledgable. Very natural. Stores information well. Moves well. Has good presence and command. I think he’s doing a really nice job.”

Among the wide receivers, Jared Jackson received high praise from Fisher as the head coach said he could be a contributor if he keeps the consistency up in practice.

On Malique Jackson, who had changed from cornerback to wide receiver a week ago, Fisher said he wish he had made the move years ago.

Fisher also gave an updated on freshman safety Cyrus Fagan saying he had surgery to remove excess cartilage that was formed due to a genetic condition and was causing swelling. He should be recovered in 3-4 weeks.

On sophomore Landon Dickerson, Fisher said, “(Dickerson)’s hungry, ready to play. He’s a very conscientious and hardworking kid.”
