FSU practice report: Starting wide receiver misses Thursday’s practice

New, 97 comments

FSU practice notes with more to come.

It was just another typical sunny day in Tallahassee with temperatures reaching 95 degrees and a heat index of 107 near the beginning of practice. Scouts from the Broncos, Bengals, Colts and Rams were in attendance for Thursday’s practice.

A new addition to the injury report is wide receiver George Campbell who was on the sidelines in a jersey and shorts, not participating in practice. It may have been a scheduled rest day for Campbell, but we will see if he’s back on the field during Saturday’s practice.

Running back Ryan Green was also absent for the second straight practice.

Linebacker Matthew Thomas was not at practice on Thursday.

Not in practice were defensive back Cyrus Fagan (knee) and tight end Alexander Marshall (finger) as the pair continues to recovery from surgery.

Likewise, offensive lineman Jauan Williams (arm), LB Dontavious Jackson (knee), defensive end Jalen Wilkerson, safety Nate Andrews and defensive tackle Adam Torres also did not participate in Thursday’s practice session.

FSU redshirt center Baveon Johnson was not in practice again. When asked, Fisher confirmed he was dealing with an injury, but thats all the info he would give.

The offensive line remained the same with Derrick Kelly, Landon Dickerson, Alec Eberle, Cole Minshew and Rick Leonard lining up from left to right. Also getting reps on the offensive line from left to right were Josh Ball, David Robbins, Corey Martinez, Mike Arnold and Abdul Bello.

Once again, before the players split up into their respective position groups, defensive backs Derwin James and Tarvarus McFadden were seen practicing with the receivers.

Hamsah Nasirildeen, freshman defensive back, was out at practice without a blue non-contact jersey he had been sporting for the last week or so.

Josh Kaindoh and Brian Burns are going to be quite the duo in College Football.

Special Teams:

Ricky Aguayo continues to have a nice fall camp for himself.

Florida State will hold a closed practice tomorrow, Friday, and will next have media availability on Saturday evening.
