Update: Florida State is ranked No. 3 in the inaugural 2017 AP Poll. The ’Noles received four first place votes. Their season opening opponent, Alabama, begins the season at No. 1. In between Alabama and FSU at No. 2 is Ohio State. Click this link for the full AP Poll.

After months of anticipation, the first AP Poll of the 2017 college football season will be released Monday at noon.

Florida State started the 2016 season ranked as the AP No. 4 team in the country and eventually finished as the AP No. 8 team at the conclusion of the season. It’s just one of many examples over the recent years that the ’Noles did not live up to their preseason poll projections.

The Coaches Poll was already released earlier this offseason. Florida State came in at No. 3 with its season-opening opponent Alabama ranked at No. 1.

We already know that FSU will have at least one first place vote after Jon Wilner of the Mercury News released his preseason AP Poll.

The AP Poll is the primary poll used for college football rankings until the College Football Playoff rankings are released after Week 8.
