Jimbo Fisher discusses leadership after Thursday’s FSU practice

New, 6 comments

Hear what FSU’s head coach had to say after the team’s second open practice.

After practice on Thursday, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher spoke about a plethora of topics.

Fisher spoke up about who has grown to become leaders, mentioning names such as defensive end Brian Burns, defensive back Tarvarus McFadden, and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, among others.

He also talked about how facing top-tier quarterbacks last season in Mitchell Trubisky, Lamar Jackson, and Deshaun Watson helps the Seminoles prepare for this season.

QB Deondre Francois is entering his second year as starting quarterback and Fisher talked about the leadership progression he has seen in the young quarterback from year-to-year.

Fisher also broke down the linebacking corp with what may be the most veteran presence the head coach has had at that position in his tenure at FSU. Both Matthew Thomas and Ro’Derrick Hoskins are seniors with Jacob Pugh entering his senior year as well.
