Jimbo Fisher speaks for final time before season opener vs. Alabama

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher spoke following practice on Thursday for his final press conference before Saturday’s season opener vs. Alabama.

Fisher confirmed that Matthew Thomas had practiced on Thursday, and was hesitant when answering if the senior linebacker would start, saying he wasn’t sure.

The FSU head coach also spoke about some of the players that stood out to him recently in practice. Among those names were Deondre Francois who had, “A really nice finish to camp,” and running back Jacques Patrick.

Fisher added that wide receivers Nyqwan Murray and Auden Tate have been very sharp in practice.

The team will do a walk through on Friday inside the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, host of Saturday’s marquee matchup. He says the ’Noles will catch some punts and kicks to help get acclimated to the lighting.
