Following last season, in which Florida State media members’ access to practice was denied around the beginning of the 2016 campaign, we weren’t really sure what the future would hold. But shortly before 2017’s fall camp opened, FSU announced that credentialed media would again be permitted entrance into practice.
And now that access has been extended to Fan Day, as has been the case in the past. Following Media Day on the morning of Sunday, August 6, the ’Noles will open up Doak Campbell Stadium and welcome the general public to view a practice at approximately 4:30 pm, weather permitting.
This is rare in a couple of regards. First, it’s the only time that fans are allowed to observe practice. Second, they, along with media members, are able to stay throughout the entirety of practice. You may think it’d be a rather toned-down practice because of this, but that’s not always been the case. A couple of years ago, Jimbo Fisher actually booted Jalen Ramsey from the open practice for showing a bit too much aggression. Good times.
