Jimbo Fisher talks about a Florida State Seminoles Football defensive back moving to wide receiver along with the new injuries to hit the team.Posted by TomahawkNation.com on Saturday, August 5, 2017
After Florida State football practice on Saturday, Jimbo Fisher broke down the latest news. (You can check out the full practice report by clicking here)
He began by mentioning the transition of senior Malique Jackson from defensive back to wide receiver, where he ran drills today. The head coach isn’t worried about the depth at wide receiver citing that he never had more scholarship receivers while coaching at LSU. He added that he was very comfortable with the top five receivers currently on the FSU roster.
Fisher once again reiterated that everyone should be cleared academically and isn’t expecting any issues in that department.
The first thing we noticed during Saturday’s practice was the plethora of injuries. Many freshman such as wide receiver D.J. Matthews, defensive back Cyrus Fagan, defensive tackle Ja’len Parks and defensive end Joshua Kaindoh were all held out among other notable players. Fisher addressed the reasons they were out and praised defensive back Hamsah Nasirildeen who donned a blue non-contact jersey on Saturday.
