Even with Hurricane Irma, the polls will go on.

Update: The Seminoles have dropped one spot in the Coaches Poll, from No. 9 to No. 10. In the AP Poll, FSU dropped one spot from No. 10 to No. 11.

Florida State football was idle on Saturday after having its scheduled home opener against ULM canceled. Additionally, next weekend’s scheduled game vs. Miami has been postponed to October 7th. Despite Hurricane Irma, the polls must go on.

FSU entered Week 2 of the college football season at No. 10 in the AP Poll. Losing was No. 2 Ohio State, No. 13 Auburn, No. 14 Stanford, and No. 24 Notre Dame. All of those losses should not shift FSU’s ranking. What could however move FSU is victories by No. 11 Oklahoma State and No. 12 LSU putting both of them at 2-0 for the season. If I had to guess, I’d put FSU at No. 12.

In the USA Today Coaches Poll, FSU entered Week 2 at No. 9. Losers on Saturday were No. 2 Ohio State, No. 13 Auburn, No. 14 Stanford, and No. 25 Notre Dame. FSU could fall behind No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 12 LSU who all won and moved to 2-0. Look for Florida State to be ranked at No. 12 in the USA Today Poll.
