Florida State and NC State will play each other for the 38th time since their first meeting back in 1952 which the Wolfpack won 13-7. FSU’s 2007 victory under Bobby Bowden was vacated.

Overall, Florida State holds a 26-11 edge (including the vacated victory) on the NC State Wolfpack which includes an eight-game winning streak from 1968-1997 (There was a large gap in-between meetings from 1969-1992). FSU heads into Saturday’s matchup riding a four-game winning streak over NC State.

The last time NC State won in Tallahassee was in 2005 after a final score of 20-15.

Since the teams began playing annually in 1992, FSU owns a 18-7 advantage over NC State. However, there was a span from 2001-2006 that Florida State went just 2-4 against North Carolina State. In fact, from 2001-2010, the average margin of victory in each matchup was just seven points.

Under Jimbo Fisher, FSU is 5-2 vs. NC State with the two losses coming in Fisher’s first year as head coach at Florida State in 2010 and 2012. At home, Florida State is 15-4 against NC State.

The most points ever scored in a meeting by either team was FSU’s 77 points in 1995. Florida State has scored 45 or more points in nine of the 37 meetings.

NC State’s highest mark was 44 points against FSU in a losing effort during the 2003 shootout that saw the ’Noles put up 50 on the scoreboard.
