For most of Florida State fall camp, senior linebacker Matthew Thomas was absent due to what was described as an “illness,” among “other things.” He returned just days before the Alabama game, and participated in that season opener. These last few weeks off have given him even more time to prepare.
“It’s good that we’re back on track now. Here to focus on NC State. Get back in the groove of things.”
Thomas was very straightforward when asked if the quick turnaround from when he returned to practice and FSU’s first game was hard.
“It was difficult. I can’t lie and say that it was easy, but I just did what I had to do.”
There was a period when the senior was away from the team that Thomas thought he wouldn’t be able to return, saying it crossed his mind.
