Following Florida State’s 27-21 loss to NC State, head coach Jimbo Fisher emphasized the team’s consistency as a big factor in the loss.

Fisher said when the defense was good, the offense was struggling and when the offense was good, the defense was struggling. There was never a perfect balance that allowed Florida State to gain momentum.

Another issue for Florida State was red zone offense. The ’Noles made six trips to the cherished red zone, but only scored one touchdown.

The Florida State head coach also praised true freshman quarterback James Blackman who made his collegiate debut. Blackman finished the day 22-38 with 278 passing yards and a touchdown.

His most targeted receiver, Auden Tate, left the game in the second half with an injury. To that point, the junior caught nine catches for 138, both which led the team.
