When Florida State heads up to Wake Forest on Saturday, it will be the teams’ 36th meeting, most of which FSU has won. In total, FSU is 28-6-1 against the Demon Deacons and have won each of the past five meeting vs. Wake and 21 of the past 25.
In recent years, FSU is just 7-4 in its past 11 meetings vs. Wake Forest and just 3-2 on the road in that span.
In between Florida State’s streak high 14 game win streak and current five game streak was a surge by Wake Forest. From 2006-2008, the Demon Deacons won three straight games which started with that infamous 30-0 victory at Doak Campbell. That was the only time FSU has been shutout vs. Wake Forest.
Florida State is 8-3 on the road in the series and won the meeting’s only neutral site game in Orlando back in 1996 in Orlando.
13 times, FSU has scored over 40 points and had a series high 72 points in 1995. Wake Forest’s best scoring performance was a victorious 35 point effort in 2011.
Under Jimbo Fisher as head coach, FSU is 6-1 against Wake. If you include his time as offensive coordinator, that record dips to 8-3.
