Florida State's ranking in the college football polls: AP, USA Today Coaches

Update: Florida State fell to No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

In the AP Poll, FSU is now ranked No. 10

After suffering two losses on Saturday, one to Alabama and then one to its starting quarterback, Florida State will surely fall from its current standing in the polls. The voters tend to not take injuries into account when submitting their polls, which doesn’t bode well for FSU.

Heading into Saturday’s season-opener vs. No. 1 Alabama, Florida State was ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll. Florida (No. 17), West Virginia (No. 22), and Texas (No. 23) were the three teams behind the ’Noles that lost. That shouldn’t figure into where FSU ends up, though, as the Seminoles should be ranked anywhere in the 6-12 range.

In the USA Today Poll, the Seminoles were also ranked No. 3 when they lost to No. 1 Alabama. Behind FSU, the same three teams were ranked and lost. Again, that will not factor into where the ’Noles end up Tuesday afternoon. The slide in the poll should be close, if not the same, as the AP Poll.

This article will be updated once the rankings are released.
