Florida State football head coach Jimbo Fisher began his weekly ACC Teleconference call speaking about last week’s loss to Alabama. The head coach said that a big factor in the loss was allowing the momentum of the game to switch in favor of Alabama. Despite the loss, Fisher was proud of how his team competed.
It then brought up a discussion about scheduling difficult opponents to open up the season. Fisher defended his stance by saying the risks are worth the rewards.
I think that was a great game for college football...You scheduled those games so far ahead...sometimes they’re good, sometime they’re bad”
During the season-opener, Florida State starting QB Deondre Francois was injured and will miss the rest of the season. Fisher said, “you can’t worry about injuries...That’s football,” when asked if he is worried about playing in these big games for injury sake.
James Blackman, who will start at quarterback, was praised by the FSU head coach. Fisher said that he is, “Very confident with what (Blackman)’s done. Throwing the ball well.”
When asked about any changed to coaching Blackman, Fisher said there will not be any major changes in the way they operate.
Note: Just a reminder that FSU’s home opener this Saturday has been moved to noon.
