On Saturday afternoon, Florida State announced the extended closure of campus through Friday, September 15th. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, September 18th.
Originally, FSU announced on Thursday, September 7th that the school would be closed through Monday, September 11th, causing the cancellation of the FSU vs. ULM game, but has now since been extended, citing the potential for long-term power outages and fallen trees.
What does this mean for the scheduled Florida State vs. Miami game this upcoming Saturday?
I believe the school made the announcement through Friday to still have the possibility of reopening campus on Saturday for the football game. However, looking at future projections and the potential damage to Tallahassee, it wouldn’t be surprising if the rivalry game vs. Miami is moved to October 7th when both teams have a bye. Florida State does have another home game scheduled for the following Saturday, September 23rd, vs. NC State.
