Florida State football, recruiting news: All eyes on the offensive line

The beleaguered unit has been shuffled yet again.

Football:

Heading out of the bye week, Florida State has made some changes to the depth chart for their game against Wake Forest. All of those changes were along the offensive line.

Offensive coordinator Walt Bell expounded on the o-line shakeup and also offered his thoughts on the infamous “illegal forward pass” against the Miami Hurricanes.

Lineman Derrick Kelly has been battling injuries all season. However, Kelly stated that his leg “feels way better” coming off of the bye week. Watch the full interview here.

Tomahawk Nation’s Courteney Korosec was at Tuesday’s practice and recorded all of her observations.

Another unique combination was given some time to gel at practice.

Wide receiver D.J. Matthews has been a revelation this year on special teams. But, according to Matthews, he’s always been great at returning punts.

The ’Noles will be maintaining a traditional look for their matchup against the Demon Deacons.

Defensive end Brian Burns is expected by some analysts to go very high in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The aforementioned Burns and 1 other Florida State defender appeared on writer David Hale’s Midseason All-ACC Team.

ESPN.com went over their biggest storylines from the first half of the college football season. FSU ended up getting a mention in the category of “They are (not) what we thought they were.”

The website also listed the Seminoles as the 10th best team in the ACC in their Week 7 P5 conference power rankings.

It’s not all doom and gloom for the ’Noles, as a major national outlet has included the team in their projections for bowl season.
