Show notes are as follows, roughly in order

Here are the things we learned from FSU’s dominant win over Wake Forest, and what we want to know going forward. We do this in the form of the show notes, roughly in order.

  • 14 ACC games since FSU won by 3+ scores
  • Early offensive struggles overstated. Really just first two drives. 1Q success rate was 50%! Highest of any quarter.
  • 414 yards on 49 plays between late 1st and third quarter.
  • New formations and motions looked good
  • Jet action finally worked! Out with the counter, in with the IZ
  • Quick game looked good.
  • 4th and 3 going for it! Right call!
  • These big plays on passing downs are not sustainable.
  • “Why is FSU running so much?” 42 pass plays, 28 runs. 60% pass. Can’t pass protect against better teams. How quickly we forgot the Miami game?
  • Francois started 2-7 for 16 yards. After that, he went 27-33 for 330+
  • Run game stuff still not there.
  • Better tempo to end 1Q
  • Cam Akers ran better
  • This WR group is very nice
  • OL still not any good

FSU’s defense

  • Wake executed very well on opening series
  • Getting lined up. Did FSU expect Wake to go so up-tempo after incompletions? Weird, unsustainable approach from Wake.
  • DL: Kaindoh showed up! Brian Burns dominant. Janarius Robinson disciplined. Coop!
  • LB: Emmett Rice! Huh. Cool.
  • DB: Stanford Samuels played great and even got some run at CB. Levonta Taylor hmm. FSU’s young corners are quite promising.
