The ‘Noles will look to keep the bowl streak and their winning streak over the Gators alive two weeks from now in the 63rd installment of the Sunshine Showdown. The game will kickoff at noon and will be broadcast on ABC.

For a second straight year FSU finds themselves in a battle for bowl eligibility, and for the second straight year they will need to beat the Gators to get to the post-season. That is if they can manage a win against a tough Boston College team that will likely be favored to beat FSU in Doak this weekend.

While FSU will be coming off of a tough contest against BC, the Gators are scheduled for a tune-up game against Idaho, leaving the Seminoles to face off against what should be a well-rested 15th ranked Gators team.

The last rendition of the storied rivalry saw the Seminoles travel to Gainesville and roll to a convincing 38-22 victory. But, that was over a then 4-7 Florida team. The feeling leading up to this year’s game is different. The Seminoles have struggled mightily against a brutal schedule and while the Gators haven’t looked overly impressive, they have managed a 7-3 record to this point.

A lot is at stake over these final two games. A strong finish and a win over Florida would help significantly in recruiting. Not to mention the value of additional bowl practices for young players returning next season.
