The lines of FSU quarterback Deondre Francois and that of No. 20 Boston College signal-caller Anthony Brown are quite similar. The former went 19-39 for 322 yards, a touchdown, two interceptions, and a passer rating of 116.3. Brown: 18-36 for 297, a score and a pair of picks, and a passer rating of 117.4.
Yet while their statistical comparisons suggest that the two played about the same game, another important stat gives Francois the edge: 22-21, the final score in favor of the Seminoles. And that final was brought about, in part, by Francois’ 74-yard touchdown strike to Tamorrion Terry with less than two minutes remaining. In addition to other topics, Francois was asked about the huge play, and he explained how another option was actually his first read on the play, before he progressed to Terry streaking down the middle of the field.
