Florida State beat its first ranked team of the season last weekend, and individual Seminoles are getting some recognition for helping to make it happen. Four ’Noles combined to take home five ACC Player of the Week honors.
The FSU linebacking corps has been a weak spot all season (longer, really), but Dontavious Jackson did more than his share against BC, with a game-high 14 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a sack, good enough for the ACC Linebacker of the Week Award. Jackson was joined as an honoree by fellow defender Stanford Samuels III, who tied for second among Seminoles with nine tackles, as well as an interception, which helped him garner the conference DB of the Week Award.
On offense, Tamorrion Terry took home both the ACC Receiver and Rookie of the Week Awards, thanks to his three catches for 112 yards and the game-winning score. And Cam Akers was named the ACC Running Back of the Week after registering his first triple-digit yard (110) rushing game of the season, along with a touchdown.
