New year, new coach, new spring game approach.
(That wasn’t even supposed to rhyme, but hey, we’ll roll with it.)
Florida State released the details of its annual Garnet and Gold game on Thursday, announcing a 6 p.m. start time on April 14 along with a throwback theme that’s complete with a free postgame concert featuring Salt-N-Pepa, Vanilla Ice, and Rob Base.
The Seminoles’ spring game will offer the public its biggest peek into new coach Willie Taggart’s offense, as well as a glimpse into the quarterback battle set to take place between Deondre Francois and James Blackman.
Tickets are free for students, $10 for general admission ($5 in advance) and $55 for the Champions Club, though the latter is only $20 for those 18 and under.
Also, for those chomping on the bit to get a front row view of “Ice Ice Baby,” concert field passes are $20.
This tweet, from Associate Athletics Director Jason Dennard, hints at the excitement that should come from the game’s throwback theme:
Fans will get a lot of retro feels for the Spring Football Weekend. Can't spill it all right now, but this will be an awesome weekend! #FSUThrowback18 pic.twitter.com/VLPPhXSa84
