Football

With a heightened sense of focus on updating facilities around the Florida State campus, the school has also placed emphasis on upgrading the Seminoles’ football facilities. Remember when this was an “issue”?

In an interesting and quirky, to say the least, turn of events, the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League have acquired the rights to FSU QB Deondre Francois should he chose to play in the CFL. Not really sure how that whole thing works, but there it is.

Congratulations are in order for new offensive coordinator Walt Bell, as he and his girlfriend have just gotten engaged. Congrats coach!

Recruiting

The ’Noles have offered 4-star c/o 2019 running back Sampson James out of Avon (In.) Avon. James is an explosive back that is the No. 2 prospect in Indiana and the No. 8 RB in the class. It looks like FSU has heavy competition for James, as Ohio State is the clear favorite right now to land him.

The Seminoles have also offered another major c/o 2019 prospect in 5-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright out of Huntington (WV) Huntington. Wright is the No. 1 prospect in West Virginia and the No. 3 OT in the class. Wright has offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, Tennessee, and Clemson to name a few, but it looks like the Buckeyes currently lead the pack.

Alumni

When it comes to competing, these NFL ’Noles do it just about better than everyone else, and they’re not afraid to get after it even during the off-season.

Other Sports

Seminoles baseball surged from a late game rally on Tuesday to defeat the USF Bulls. And we continue to wait on the MRI results of FSU ace Tyler Holton.
