Florida State football, recruiting news: Seminoles begin recruiting week on a high note

FSU starts the week off hot after landing a commitment.

FSU head coach Willie Taggart congratulated women’s hoops and coach Sue on their NCAA tournament bid.

Recruiting

The Seminoles have offered 4-star c/o 2019 linebacker Mohamoud Diabate from Auburn (Ala.) Auburn. Diabate is the No. 9 prospect from Alabama and is ranked No. 14 at his position.

Florida State has sent an offer to c/o 2020 major prospect Javier Morton out of Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson. Morton is a hard commit to Alabama, so the ’Noles will have to go up against the Crimson Tide to land his commitment.

The new Florida State staff has offered c/o 2021 West coast athlete prospect Emeka Egbuka out of Steilacoom (Wa.) Steilacoom.

Class of 2019 4-star wide receiver prospect Jashawn Sheffield is in Tallahassee to visit the Seminoles and it looks like he’s enjoying himself.

The Seminoles have landed a commitment from all-around athlete Travis Jay and the new FSU staff is pretty excited.

The state of Florida is proving to be stacked with major wide receiver and defensive back prospects for the class of 2019.

Alumni

Florida State linebacker alum Christian Jones is set to sign a two-year contract with the Detroit Lions.

Other Sports

As the start of the NCAA tournament nears and the Seminoles are set to face Mizzou, their head coach Cuonzo Martin spoke about superstar Michael Porter Jr. being inserted back in the lineup.

FSU target Elias King has de-committed from UGA. King is a 4-star small forward for the class of 2019.

FSU baseball just couldn’t get past the No. 2 Gators after a showdown in Gainesville.
