Not bad for a Monday.

The latest addition to the FSU reunion tour was Heisman winning quarterback and No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston. Winston, who led the Seminoles to their third National Championship, stopped by practice Monday and spoke at length with the team, head coach Willie Taggart, and visitors. Jameis’ habit of talking to everyone hasn’t left him since going to the NFL.

Curt Weiler and Wayne McGahee III of the Tallahassee Democrat sat down with Taggart to discuss the biggest thing he’s learned since taking over. View part three of their interview here.

Florida State is tied with Auburn for the seventh-best odds to win the National Championship next season according to the Las Vegas Super book.

The Seminoles are one week away from the spring game. Here’s each team’s roster, and here’s our prediction on who will win.

I attended practice on Saturday, where Marvin Wilson and Nyquan Murray were both injured but present, and reported on an energetic afternoon.

Recruiting

The Seminoles scored big Monday night when 4-star quarterback Sam Howell announced his commitment to the Garnet & Gold on Twitter.

Just how big of an impact will the first committed quarterback of the Taggart era make? Bud Elliot has you covered.

Also, Taggart let everybody know just how he felt about Howell committing.

The best player in the country for 2019 will be in Tallahassee on Saturday. He just came from Alabama, so with expectations high, he has one request. Coachella has a crazy lineup this year, too.

Travis Jay was even less extensive in a tweet Monday, but sometimes saying less means more. The 3-star cornerback from Madison County (Fla.) is committed to the Seminoles.

Four-star receiver Maurice Goolsby has plans this Saturday. The 30th-ranked receiver in his class has yet to announce if he’ll be sporting garnet, gold, both, or neither.

Alumni

Former Seminole Sebastian Janikowski just scored a job interview. Remember when Bowden said, “Boy, have you ever thought about how many National Championships we might have won if we had Janikowski every year of my career?”

James Wilder Jr. might have just put in his request to be the next member of the FSU reunion tour. He wants in.

Kansas City Chief Cameron Erving has just one place that he’ll be on Saturday. The 6-5, 313-pound guard was a first round pick in 2015.

Jalen Ramsey and Derwin James are best friends lately, and it’s awesome. They can come #Back2Campus anytime they want.

Former FSU running back Ryan Green has a date down in Tampa, and it could be the type of relationship that actually lasts awhile.

Other Sports

FSU baseball might have dropped out of the AP top 10, but they have a shot to move back up with the top-ranked team in the country, the Florida Gators, coming to Tallahassee Tuesday.

Florida State hoops’ commit Devin Vassell won the 2018 Daily Post Boys Player of the Year in Gwinnett County. The 6-4 wing is shooting 53% from the floor and 41% from beyond the arc.
