Florida State football, recruiting news: Seminoles look forward to NFL Draft

Who’s the real DBU? FSU has had 28 consecutive years of defensive backs drafted, and they’re about to make it 29.

With the draft quickly approaching, the next round of Seminole alums are ready to play at the next level.

Director of player development Mario Edwards reminds us to “blame no one” and “make no excuses.”

Seminoles Boosters’ spring tour had a great first stop in Jacksonville.

Recruiting

Florida State and Treasure Coast High School alum Lamarcus Brutus was excited to have running backs coach Donte Pimpleton at his old stomping grounds for a recruiting visit.

Coach Pimpelton made his rounds today and also visited Port Saint Lucie High in south Florida.

Offensive line coach Greg Frey is also hitting the recruiting trail hard in Georgia, spending some time at Brunswick High School.

Major FSU target 4-star wide receiver John Dunmore out of Hollywood (Fla.) is crushing spring practice, and his film doesn’t disappoint. Dunmore is the No. 21 receiver prospect in the class of 2019 and has offers from the likes of Michigan, Florida, Auburn, and Georgia.

Wide receivers coach David Kelly was hitting major schools in Dade County this week, looking for the next bout of FSU football stars.

Defensive backs coach Mark Snyder honed in on Jacksonville-area recruiting, making a visit to St. Augustine High School.

Recent Florida State cornerback commit Travis Jay recently earned his fourth star from ESPN and 247Sports. Jay comes out of Madison (Fla.) Madison County and is the No. 23 CB in the class of 2019.

Seminoles alum Adrian McPherson (‘01-02) was recently signed by the AFL’s Jacksonville Sharks.

Other Sports

FSU basketball’s Terrance Mann was recently recognized for his efforts off the court.

’Noles coach Leonard Hamilton is set to be honored at the legendary Dickie V’s Gala next month.

FSU track and field had a stand out this week in Corion Knight.

FSU baseball wasn't able to overcome Stetson and had its win streak snapped.

After the Seminoles made their way into the Elite Eight this past March, the hoops squad is ready to get next season started.

Seminoles softball comes in at No. 8 in the most recent rankings.
