The 2018 NFL Draft recently concluded in Dallas, Texas, and several Seminoles heard their names called and their professional dreams become reality. Standout defender Derwin James, of course, attended the draft, while others watched in locations across the country.
Last month, nine ’Noles made their way to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, most of whom are projected by NFL.com to be drafted. Here’s where those selected wound up:
- Safety Derwin James: Los Angeles Chargers, round 1, overall pick 17
- Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi: Kansas City Chiefs, round 3, overall pick 75
- Offensive lineman Rick Leonard: New Orleans Saints, round 4, overall pick 127
- Edge Josh Sweat: Philadelphia Eagles, round 4, overall pick 130
- Tight end Ryan Izzo: New England Patriots, round 7, overall pick 250
- Receiver Auden Tate: Cincinnati Bengals, round 7, overall pick 253
The following Combine participants were not drafted, but we’ll keep you posted on where they sign as free agents:
- Cornerback Tarvarus McFadden (projected draft selection: fifth or sixth round)
- Outside linebacker Matthew Thomas (projected draft selection: sixth or seventh round)
- Outside linebacker Jacob Pugh (projected draft selection: priority free agent)
There are other FSU players looking to catch on with a team as well. Those not invited to the Combine include receiver/safety Ermon Lane, safeties Trey Marshall and Nate Andrews, defensive end Jalen Wilkerson, running back/cornerback Ryan Green, linebacker Ro’Derrick Hoskins, receiver/DB Malique Jackson, and long snapper Stephen Gabbard,
