So far, so good— we now have kickoff times for Florida State’s first three contests of the 2018 football season, and hey gang, they all make sense! The ’Noles will get things going on Labor Day evening, of course, in a nationally televised primetime home game against Virginia Tech, with a quick turnaround before hosting Samford the following Saturday. Night games are great, especially early in the season, and not just because there’s more time for tailgating. It’s still really warm in Tallahassee at that time of year, so it’s logical to play games later, after the nastiest heat has subsided a bit.

After that, FSU hits the road, traveling north to Syracuse to take on the Orange. This game will commence at noon, which is also a good thing for the Seminoles. First, it’s Syracuse— this really doesn’t require a primetime showcase. Second, getting the game finished early allows the ’Noles the opportunity to complete the long trip back home that much sooner, which affords them the opportunity to stay on their weekly schedule.
