Jersey numbers have taken on an air of mystery under new Florida State head coach Willie Taggart. No player was allowed to wear a single-digit number during spring ball, as the new head coach insisted that those numbers would have to be earned. And the FSU roster still reflects this.
However, we do now know the numbers that new players will be sporting, thanks to a tweet from the program:
One will certainly notice the inclusion of Xavier Peters and Isaiah Bolden above. There have been concerns about whether or not these 2018 signees will qualify, and while neither has yet enrolled at Florida State, it’s certainly not a bad sign that they’re included in the tweet as well as on the Seminoles’ roster.
You’ll also notice a very familiar name in the upper-lefthand corner of the graphic: Ward. That would be Caleb Ward, son of FSU legend Charlie. The younger Ward is a freshman walk-on receiver for the ’Noles.
