After flawed win, FSU football still getting vote in AP Poll

See what I did there?

NCAA Football: Samford at Florida State Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

No, that title is not a misprint. I did not neglect an “s” on the word “vote.” After getting into the win column against Samford following a disappointing loss to Virginia Tech that dropped the ’Noles out of the AP top 25, FSU once again saw its votes decrease, receiving just a lone vote in this week’s poll.

Florida State remains behind four other Florida teams. UCF rose from No. 19 to 18th, and Miami also gained a spot, moving from 22nd to No. 21. South Florida received three votes. UF, which had squeaked into the poll at No. 25 following week one, did not garner a single vote after losing to traditional SEC powerhouse Kentucky.

The Seminoles will have a chance to improve upon their national image when they leave Tallahassee for the first time this weekend, as the garnet and gold will travel north to take on the Orange of Syracuse.
